Lights, camera, action! This fast-paced, hands-on camp will cover the entire video production process, from screenwriting to filming and editing. Students will learn about a variety of film styles, production roles, and the stages of video production including storyboarding, filming, special effects, and computer editing. Students will work collaboratively in small groups on a group video project.
The Video Camp will be led by Tom and Joy Archibald. Tom and Joy have over 30 years combined experience working in entertainment, broadcasting, and video/graphic design.
Tom has worked behind the camera at network and cable television stations, as well as radio broadcasting and voiceovers, and on stage in theatrical productions. He is an Event Manager at Northrop Auditorium at the University of Minnesota.
Joy has worked in theatre as stage manager, technical director, and lights and audio operator. She also works in graphic, video and web design at the University of Minnesota.
